Week of 10/23
Sea Otter Charters: Mon 10/23 Awesome bass action for Mike Haley's group today. The gang nailed their limit using line bait then also managed some nice sea bass. The cpombined effoprts of Uncle Jason and Kieth yielded a nice 44 pound striper. Phil weighed a 32 pounder. Both Kieth and Taylor tied for high hook with 5 apiece. Tues 10/24 Brian McCarthy's group came ot this afternoon for some nice bass acion on jigs as well as libve eels. Eddie landed the first two keepers. The guys also had lots and lots of bluefish to contend with. Thurs 10/26 Dave aboudi and crew came out for a phenominal morning of bass and bluefish action. The guys landed over 30 stripers and lost count on th ebluefish with weights to 20 pounds. Even Rob manged to play catch and release with 10 keepers. Fri 10/27 Rob Crane and gang were out for som emixed bag action today. Rob was high hook with 8 keeper tog to 8 1/2 pounds. Val was high hook with sea bass. The guys also nailed plenty of bluefish on jigs. Fri night The boys rrom Bayport Fire Department were out for some night eeling bass. Roubel landed th efirst fish of the night. Bob had two keepers including the pool at 28 pounds. Open Boat Wed 10 /25 The water was all stirreed up today making for a tough blackfish bite. High hook managed to be 11 keepers though. Weights to 81/ 2pounds today. Fri 10/27 Tough togging today, around two dozen keepers. Mr Kim weighed in a 5 pounder to take the pool. A mix of scup and sea bass rounded out the day. All weekend trips were cancelled due to the weather conditions. Week of 10/16 Mon 10/16 Mix of some nice sized sea bass and tog. Young Kim took pool honors courtesy of a 7 1/2 pound blackfish. Wed 10/18 Night bass anglers enjoyed a decent pick of fish. John Kenyon won the pool with a 20 pounder Thurs 10/19 Some decent tog action today. Young Kim was back earning high hook with 12 keepers. Mr. Park captured the pool winning tog tipping the scales at 9 pounds. Sat night 10/21 Very good night eeling action tonite. Close to 50 keepers over the rails. Good numbers tipping the scales between 25 and 30 pounds. The pool winner was a 32 pounder. Sun 10/22 Good pick of blackfish today with over 100 keepers hitting the deck. Bum Kim was the pool winner with a 10 pound tog. Charters: Mon 10/16 Jason Haley and the gang were out for some nice action. Tom Smith caught 6 keeper bass to 38 pounds. Rich Dunsmore nailed a 34 pounder. Mike Haley weighed in th epool sea bass at 5.85 pounds. Wed 10/18 Mikey Waters and the boys from Massapequa Fire Department were out today. Whitey Gallo had 7 keeper stripers and Walter Gallo played catch and release also with 4. John Gallo had the largest at 32 pounds. Thurs 10/19 Tom Zultowsky and crew were out today. The guys hauled in a few bushels of nice porgies and then live lined for 18 bass. Sat 10/21 Chuck Gifford and the boys were out today. Some rough conditions but the guys managed a nice pick of fish. Anthony Romeo nailed a 33 pounder and Billy D was not far behind with his 31 pounder. Pat and crew from Peconic Ironworks chartered Sea Otter V today. Plenty of action amidst rough conditions but the crew managedtheir limit. Pat had a 35 /2 pounder. Dan nailed 9 keepers. Sun 10/22 Tommy Hart and hid group from Smith and Wolensky were aboard today taking their limit on stripers. Valmi scored with a 31 pounder. Tommy Hart Jr. weighed in a 29 p[ounder and Tom Hart Sr. tiped the scales with a 4 1/2 pound sea bass. Please let readers know that Sea Otter V is sailing 7am-4pm, Sun thru Fri for tog. There are no DAYTIME trips avail. on Sat 8/28 or Sun 8/29. Week of 10/6 Sun night 10/6 John Borechesky and buddies were out for some night eeling action. The guys limited out with a bunch of big fish tipping the scales over 30 pounds. Rob had 3 between 32 and 36 pounds. John had 3 fish over 30 and Chooch had 2 over 30. Capt. Joel had tto get in on the action and brought a 40 pounder over the rails. Mon 10/7 Harry Maleonado and the boys from Local Union 3 Electrical were out for a half day striper trip. The guys limited out in two drifts! Mike Hernandez nailed a beautyat 34.8 pounds. Fri 10/13 Friday the 13th fared well for Al Goldberg and friends. A good bite was provided during the second half of the tide. Cheryl landed a 33 pounder and Brad Baker took top honors with his 47 pounder. Friday night Willie Ringhoff and th eboys were out for some night eeling action. Close to 40 keepers were boated to 25 pounds. Plenty of bluefish providing action as well. Sat 10/14 Sea Otter V was chartered today by Frank Morelli and gang. Excellent scup action. The guys switched for a decent bass bitewith Mario capturing the 28 pound pool winner. The morning trip was chartered by Joe Whitie Dwyer and pals. The guys landed over 14 stripers to 28 pounds. Mark "Pinky" had 2 ahile Bill Dilgen and Willie Bauccio tied for the pool honors. The afternoon trip was taken by Steve Brozony and friends. The boys had some excellent action and limited out. Brown landed a 33 pounder to take the pool. Sun 10/15 Chris Panzarella and some guys from Toyota had a good fishing day with a mess of keeper stripers to 31 pounds. "Fat head" had 2, Poppy had 4, Larry had 5 , Babbo nailed 6 including the pool to 31 pounds. Sea Otter V sailed today with a mix of jumbo scup and some jumbo sea bass up to 5 1/2 pounds. Some blackfish in th emix which should improve with the colder tempertures in the forecast ahead. Mike "the Mustache" had the blackfish pool with his 5 pound tog. Please let readers know that there will not be any half day diamond jigging trips avail. on Sat 10/21. Week of 10/2 Mon 10/2 Rudy Kastanek chartered Sea Otter IV today. After catching bait in the morning the guys had a incredible day with bass providing steady action all day. Jimmy nabbed the pool at 32 pounds and there were many released fish up to 30 pounds. Ended the day with some nice sea bass action and ended up with 1/2 a bushel. Monday night the Secret Squirrel group were back enjoyong an awesome night of striper action. the guys had their limit by 10 pm and played catch and release for the remainder of the night. Capt. Joel got in on the action nabbing 3 in a row over 30 pounds and the largest went at 37 pounds. The guys weighed 4 others over 30. Jimmy Srawlwy aka Kid Twister, nailed the largest cow of the night. He hauled in a nice 50 pounder. Monday and Tuesday Sea Otter V headed out for some tog action. A mixed bag on Monday with the tog on th eslow side. Tuesday fared better with just over 30 keepers to 7 pounds. Wed 10/4 Rich Lemke and pals were back for some mixed bag action. The guys had a bunch of nice giant porgies. 10 year old Anthony Adamo had his first keeper striper at 30 pounds and his first alligator blue just over 18 pounds.. Excellent bite the whole tide and even Jason caught stripers. Thurs 10/5 Morgan Neff and his group of some of NY's finest firemen were out. Excellent trip with over 38 keepers on live bait. 10 fish tipped the scales over 30 pounds. Mike scored with the largest at 40 pounds. Fri & Sat cancelled due to weather. Sun 10/8 Mike Pehrsson was out and the first day after the storm was no disappointment. The gang limited out in 5 drifts and then played catch and release. Jen had the 1st keeper and Regis won th epool at 30 pounds. Sea Otter V was out today for some real mixed bag action. Close to 2 dozen nice sea bass came over the rails - a few over 5 pounds. Plenty of big porgies and some ling, some blackfish and a few cod came over the rails. Mr. La was hook on blackfish with 4 keepers. Please note that there will not be any 1/2 day trips avail on Sat 10/14. Sea Otter IV has open charter dates avail. 10/23, 10/24, 10/26 and 10/31 this month. Week of 9/25 Tues-Wed 9/26-9/27 Krispy Creme Nagel and pals went out for an overnite offshore trip. Nice action and a lot of fun. The trip results were a 250 pound blue shark, close to 2 dozen mahi mahi to 20 pounds, 9 yellowfin to 75 pounds and 2 albies. Thurs 9/28 Joe Peloso and friend came out for some bassing. A tougher pick today but Joe was high hook with 3 keepers. Fri 9/29 Greg Oross had a decent day of bass action. The 9 passengers limited out and Irwin "Black Cloud" had 5 keepers and was high hook. Sat 9/30 Abco Peerless Sprinkler Company chartered the big boat today. Excellent bass action on live bait. Bob Goodyear took the pool away courtesy of the nice 40 pounder he swung over the rails. Todd was high hook with 6 keepers. Brent Smith was just behind with 5. Ashly, Tyler and Kyle managed to bring in 3 keeeprs each to 30 pounds. Tough conditions on the Sat nite live eeling trip. Carlos was the pool winner witha 15 pound striper. Please let readers know that we are now running Blackfish trips 7am-4pm Sun thru Fri. Sea Otter IV will be operating the open boat triup on Thurs 10/5. We've added Sun nite 10/8 for a night bass trip, 7PM - please call for reservations.
