Week of 5/ 22
Wed 5/24
Very good morning bite today with 3/4 of the boat taking their limit. Good numbers of throw backs as well. Choi won the pool with a 6 1/2 pound fluke.

Thurs 5/24
Tons of shorts today with 30 keepers for 10 fares. Mr Park won the pool with a 5 pounder. Squirt got in on the action bringing 3 fish between 6 and 7 pounds over the rails too.

Fri 5/25
Fast and furious action this morning with plenty of bent poles and double headers coming over the rails. Lots of shorts with a decent pick of keepers. 3-way tie for the pool with 5 pounders.

Sat 5/26
The morning trip yeilded some good action with bragging rights earned by Stella Chang and her 9 1/ 2pound fluke! The afternoon was also decent with an 8 pounder taking the pool, caught by james Chang. Keeping it in the family!

The Saturday night bass trip kicked off the season with very good results and over 20 keepers nailed. Alex Petrenko nabbed 3 keepers , including the pool winner at 31 pounds. Kathy Kronuch was high hook with 6 fish. Squirt dropped a line in the water and managed to pull the biggest fish of the night over the rails - a beauty at 38 1/2 pounds.

Sun 5/27
Good action today with some nice quality fish landed. Eddie Chang won the pool with a 7 1/ 2 pounder. Kim had 4 fish to 6 pounds.

Sea Otter IV Charters:
Mon 5/22
Bob Schenkel and some frinds were out today. We headed to the north to keep out of the wind. Around 10 keeper fish, 5 of which were over 5 pounds. "Yell0w Pants " Bob hit the pool with a 6 1/ 2pounder. Diamond jigging yielded very good action with 9 keeper bass to 18 pounds.

Tues 5/23
The guys from back "West" were out. Good fluke action for the first few drifts. Glenn lizza had the biggest fluke for the day at 7 1/2 pounds. Diamond jigging yielded 21 keeper bass to 21 pounds. 5 y/o Jack Lizza was high hook with 4 fish to 21 pounds.

Wed 5/24
Tony Meliak and his group from Fred Smith Plumbing and Heating headed to B.I. for some action. Good bite for the first couple hours, plenty of shorts with a few keepers. Tony won th epool with a 6 1/2 pounder.

Sat 5/27
Mike Nagel and his pals headed to Block Island for some fluking. Big ground swell on today giving us some rolly conditions. A few good drifts though and Mike limited on fluke to 5 1/ 2 pounds. Brian had a 4 1/2 pounder. Landed some s hort bass diamond jigging.

Please let eaders know that Sea Otter Iv will be running the 1/2 day fluke trips on Sat 6/3. Also please note that our Friday schedule has changed - we will now run two 1/2 day diamond jigging trips.

Tues 5/16 /Wed 5/17
Tough fishing conditions with a huge ground swell on after a lot of days of continuous East wind. Tough bite with short action and some keepers.

Thurs 5/18
Decent pick of fluke today with some nice keepers coming over the rails. We also did some diamond jigging in the morning for some striper and bluefish action. Brooklyn Lou had 3 keepr bass and Paul Ryan nailed 2. Around 12 keeper stripers and a mix of shorts and blues came over the rails. The pool winner was Bob Geib who nabbed an 8 pound fluke.

Fri 5/19
Howie Forster nabbed the pool today with a nice 7 1/2 pounder a 6 1/2 pounder also came over the rails.

Sat 5/20
Kenney Coffey took out his team from Tech-Clean today for a mixed bag trip aboard sea otter V. The kids had the bragging rights today. 15 y/o Kyle Wagner - a 1st time Montauker nailed 4 keeper bass diamond jigging. His cousin, Andrew Coffey, 13, caught 3 keeper striped bass including the biggest which weighed in at a hefty 25 pounds. Frank won high hook honors in fluke and the pool at 3 1/2 pounds.
aboard th eopen boat today Cliff managed a pool winning fluke at 6 1/2 pounds.

Sun 5/21
Had some life today with some quality fish coming over the rails. Alberto Chanyien won th epool with a 9.2 pound fluke.

Se aOtter IV Charters:
Tues 5/16
Anthony Testa took his family out to celebrate Tony Sr's birthday - he celebrated by catching the first keeper bass of the day. Grandsons, 7 y/o Vincent caught his first keeper bass and his 9 y/o brother Anthony caught his first keepr bass on diamond jigs to 15 pounds. A dozen keeper bass to 22 pounds came over the rails. Grover took the pool with a 4 pound fluke and was high hook with 6 keeper fluke.

Wed 5/17
Eddie Rossiella and a bunch of pals came out for the day. Diamond jigged in the morning with 7 keepers to 16 pounds, shorts in the mix as well. Tough swell on for fluke with close to a dozen keeper fluke and a fair amount of shorts. Jason had the most interesting catch of the day with a monkfish. Nick caught the fluke pool winner.

Thurs 5/18
Al Goldberg and friends were out today. Diamond jigged for a mix of blues and bass. Izzy caught the first keeper and the pool winning fluke. Tough conditions for fluking today. Al was high hook with 20 shorts!

Fri 5/19
Tommy Hart and his group from Smith & Wollensky were back for a mixed day. Balmy was the hands down winner today with the biggest fluke of the year so far - a real doormat tipping the scales at 13.8 pounds! Decent bass action today with a fair amount of shorts and around 7 keepers. Tommy Hart Sr. had the pool bass at 19 pounds.

Sun 5/21
Andy mendolia and the boys from the Sanitation Dept. were out todayand we headed towards block Island. We manged a fair pick of fish but the weather was not fully cooperating. Joe Puith won th epool with a 5 1/2 pounder.


Please let readers know that Sea otter IV will operate the Full day trip on Wed 5/24. We will run 1/2 day trips, 8-noon and 1pm-5pm on Sat 5/27 and Mon 5/29. We have also added a night bass trip on Sun 5/28 - please call for a reservation.

Mon 5/8
Good action on the fluke front again today. It was Tony Vigil's day snagging pool whonors with a nice 4 pounder and then scoring high hook with 10 keepers - only took home his limit!

Wed 5/10
Consistent action - lots of shorts again for fluke anglers. Bob the "Green Machine" went home with the pool winnings by nabbing a 5 pound fluke.

Sat 5/13
East wind made fo some tough conditions. Pool winner was Hector from Queens who hit the pool with a 5 1/2 pound fluke.

Sun 5/14
Kim won the pool today with a 4 1/2 pound fluke. Lots of shorts to contend with but rough weather and tough conditions today.

Fri 5/5
Tough bite for the tog today - good quality, slow quantity. Pat Taylor nailed the pool with a beauty at 10.2 pounds! Squirt hauled a 12 pounder over the rails for non- pool honors.

Sat 5/6
Sea Otter IV took out a group for a tog trip today. Looks like the blackfish are spawning. Plenty of shorts around. A few in the 7 pound range. Kenny Jasinsky took the pool home with an 8 pounder.

Sat 5/6
Sea Otter V started the fluke season off today with a nice start. great too se so many regulars and to meet some new faces as well!! Some anglers went home with their limits and good numbers of short throwbacks. Kevin Daniels nabbed the first keeper of the season as well as heding home with his limit. Roy Wolmart won th epool with a 7 1/2 pounder. Ace hit a 6 1/2 pounder. La was high hook with 9 keepers, keeping his limit.

Sun 5/7
Lots of action today - averaging around 25 throwback shorts per person. Good number of anglers limiting out. Eddie Cheng won the pool with a 6 1/2 pounder. High hook was 7 fish - only keeping the limit.

Sea Otter V will continue to run 7 days a week, 1st come, 1st served, for fluke 7am-4pm. Sat 5/27 and Mon 5/29 will be 1/2 day fluke trips at 8am and then at 1pm. We will kick off Night Striped Bass season on Sat 5/20 at 7PM. We will run by reservation on Wed, Fri, Sat and an added trip on Sun 5/28. Call for reservations.
