FISHING REPORT
Week of 10/25
Mon 10/26 Crew took an afternoon blackfish run w/terrific results. Limited out in under 2 hours and had fish to 8 pounds. Wed 10/27 Ok pick of blackfish. Ray Lewis won the blackfish pool with a 5 pounder and limited out. Ray was high hook with 14 keepers (keeping only his limit). Wed night Good bass fishing. High hook Kathy Kronuch with 5 keepers. Andrew Loglisci won the pool with a 32 pounder. Thursday night 10/28 Good numbers of bass to 28 pounds. The guys from Gentry Construction were on board and Ray was high hook with 14 and Mike nailed 10. Friday10/29 Good blackfish day with Ken Jasinski winning the pool with his 9 1/2 pound tog. Ken also swung 18 keepers over the rails. Dave Duffy was on fire nailing 30 keeper tog (took home his limit). Good diamond jigging at the end of the day as well for bass and blues. Dave managed 4 keeper bass as well. Fri night Good action with Brian Raynow winning the pool with a bass weighing 29 pounds. Sat night 10/30 Lisa Demeham won the pool , catching a 27 pound striper on a live eel. Fri night charter - the boys from Bayport Fire Dept came out and limited out with bass to 25 pounds. Andy was high hook with 4 keepers. Sat 10/30 charter Joe Godley had a crew out for some mixed action. A strong blackfish bite gave Chuch the high hook honors with 7 but it was Kenny who won the pool with his 7 1/2 pound tog. Some afternoon bassing had Chuck high hook again with 5 keeper bass. Sun 10/31 charter Abel Lee had a group out to go togging. Week of 10/18 Monday the Salzarulo's and friends charterd Sea Otter IV for a full day bass trip. The group limited out using live eels for bait. Debbie Salzarulo was high hook with 4 keepers. Monday night Butch Olmstead and buddies went out for some nighttime eeling for stripers. the guys had fish to 30 pounds and Butch nailed 4 keepers. Thursday, some rough conditions couldn't keep the boys from the Fire Factory, Engine 58, Ladder 26 down. Diamond jigging yeilded some fine results with Morgan Neff bringing a 32 pounder over the rails and Joe nailing a 30 pounder. Be sure to check out our ad for our new schedule: Blackfish evryday at 7am except for Tues and Saturdays! Sun 10/10 Night bass was decent with Bill Casey winning the pool with a 28 pounder. Mon 10/11 Blackfish was off to a slowere start. Porgie action was good. Excellent bass bite with just a few shy for the boats limit. Tues 10/12 Goos sea bass action today. Wed 10/13 excellent bass action at night in eels. Limited out and Joe Piccolo won the pool with a 30 pounder. Charters Mon10/11 Joe Balestra and pals chartered for some very good night action. Carl nailed the pool fish at 37 pounds. Fri 10/15 Joe Baril and pals braved the elements with a decent bass bite. Bob from Trans Pro was high hook with 8 keepers and the pool at 33 pounds. Very rough weather week with unfortunaletle resulting in most of our charters for the week having to be rescheduled. Week of 10/3 Sun night 10/3 Decent night live eeling with the pool won by eddie Bauer with a 25 pounder. Mon 10/4 Good mixed bag day, with nice sea bas and scup action. Diamond jigging on the slower side. Pool won by Steve Sylvester with a 3 1/2 pound sea bass. Wed 10/6 Very decent porgy and sea bass bite. Some blackfish coming over the rails. Brooklyn Lou won the pool with a 6 pound blackfish. Wed night Decent night again with Kathy Kronuch winning the pool with a 39 pound striper. Thurs 10/7 Sea bass fishing was good, the porgies were a bit slower. 4 pound sea bass won the pool. Fri 10/8 Good day with sea bass and porgies in the mix. Live lining we had stripers to 25 pounds. Fri night A little slower but Tommy Smalls pulled out the pool winner at 23 pounds. Sat 10/9 It was Kevin Daniels morning with 3 keepers and a 37 pound striped bass on the AM diamond jigging trip. (kept only his limit) The afternoon was very tough with blue fish putting in an appearance. Sat night Slower night with wind against the tide. Pool fish in the mid twenty pound range. Sea Otter IV Charters Mon 10/4 Mike Williams and friends had a very good day bassing with live bait. Mike nailed a 38 1/2 pounder icing the pool. Tues 10/5 Danny Tiefenwerth and buddies nabbed their limit on bass to 29 pounds. A consistent pick throughout the day. Thurs 10/7 Jason Haley and his group were back again this week for another awesome bassing day. Great day after retaining their limit they played catch and release, releasing a bunch of fish in the 30 pound range. Charlie was high hook with 10 bass. Fri 10/8 Paul Palazollo and his friends had a terrific day bassing - 25 keepers in one drift alone! They released somne nice sized fish to 30 pounds after retaining their limit. Matt had a 34 1/2 pounder. They also got into some sea bass. Fri night 10/8 John Connolly had a group out for some night eeling for bass. John had 3 keepers (releasing one) Tom from Ohio had his limit including the pool winner at 26 pounds. Sat 10/9 Dave Arthur's wife Jenn surprised him with a birthday fishing charter where he and his friends enjoyed a steady pick throughout the day of basss and blues. Brad won their pool with a 34 pound striper. Sat night 10/10 Jeff Lawrence and buddies ccame out for a night bass trip with live eels. It was a tough night with wind against the tide. But Jeff managed a 32 pounder and his pal Phil nabbed a 30 pounder. Sun 10/11 Michael Preiss came out for a 1/2 day trip of live lining bait for bass. The guys had their limit with fish to 30 pounds. Alan Preiss came through in the end nailing 4 keepers in the last drift. (kept only his limit) Week of 9/26 Sun night 9/26 Good bass fishing with the pool won by Nancy o'Donnell and her 27 pound striped bass. Mon night 9/27 Great night - boat brought in the limit with Dave Duffy earning the pool with a striper at 28 pounds. Fri day 10/1 Very good mixed bag day with lots of jumbo scup, sea bass and close to two dozen blackfish. The jigging was very good for stripers. Fri night Another good night trip with Dave Duffy winning for the 2nd time this week. This time his 25 pounder took the hnors. Sat 10/2 1/2 day diamond jigging with good ressults. Kevin Daniels took the morning pool with a 15 pound striper and the afternoon was won by Kevin Martinez and his 25 pounder. Sun 10/3 Kevin Daniels was back again today winning the pool by jigging a 30 pound striper. Sea Otter IV charters Mon 9/27 Steve Petrecca and buddies had a fun night with 81 year old Frank still talking about his birthday present - his 1st ever striped bass weighing a very solid 38 pounds! His 72 y/o buddy Emil had to show him up by nailing a 42 pounder. Tues 9/28 Steve and pals came back again for some morning actipn Steve a.k.a. "the one that got away" managed a nice 40 pounder. Thurs 9/30 Charlie snyder and buddies using live bait nailed 4 bass in the 30 pound range. But it was Dan Bustamante who had plenty to brag about when he brought a 57 1/2 pound striper in. Thurs night 9/30 Matt Konefal and friends had a great night bassing w/live eels, limiting out. Dan had his first keeper striper at 24 pounds. Fri 10/1 The gang from Vision Enterprises ventured out for some porgie and bss fishing. Terrific bass bite with 5 fish in the 30 pound range. Bob won the pool with a 38 pounder. Fri night 10/1 The Ever Ready Firemen from Riverhead limited out on bass w/live eels. JOhn won the pool with a 33 pounder. Sat. 10/2 Ryan weber and buddies did a porgy/stripr combo and enjoyed a real good bass bitew/Jeff taking top honors with a 33 pounder. Sun 10/3 Mike Sheehan and family were out today for bass action w/live bait. Some real good porgie action and stripers to 30 pounds w/Anthony taking the top honors. The afternoon trip had Mike Abel nailing a 36 pounder on live bait and Captain Joel getting in on the action with a 36 pounder of his own.
