FISHING REPORT
Monday 5/24
Very decent day with Chrome Dome jigging his limit on bass and nailing the fluke pool with a 9 1/2 pounder. Kenny Matled had some nice quality fluke in his limit with weights between 6 and 7 1/2 pounds. Tuesday 5/25 Good numbers of fluke form the South Side. Sue Ferguson won the pool with a 7 1/2 pounder. Tony and Tom tied for 2nd with a pair of 6 3/4 pound fluke. Wednesday 5/26 Some decent diamond jigging today. Steve Matucci nabbed 5 keepers and Captain Joel nailed 6. (Anglers retained only their limts) Fluking was a bit tougher with a lot of shorts around. Paul Ryan won the fluke pool. Thursday 5/27 a slower pick on the fluke today with some tougher conditions. Mr Chang still managed a nice 7 poundfluke to win the pool. Friday 5/28 Crummy weather didn't slow the fluke bite any. The boat limited out and Joe Nocerino won the pool with a 5 pound fluke. Saturday 5/29 AM Lots of fish with plenty of anglers bringing in their limit. Fishing the rips Mr. Choi won the pool with a 4 1/2 pounder. PM A bit slower in the afternoon with a slower pick on the South side. dick Sesso won the pool with his 4 pound fluke. Sunday 5/30 AM The boat took its limit with some solid action in the first few drifts. Lou Bisourdy from Brooklyn won the pool with a 6 1/2 pounder. PM Fished the rips with some good action to start it off but then the drift got real tough. Dave Ruth had 5 keepers (kept his limit). Paul Kim won the pool with a 5 1/2 pound fluke. NIGHT BASS Sunday nights bass trip was very tough. The pool was won by 10 year old Ian Husak with a 15 pound striped bass. Monday 5/31 Excellent fishing. High hook was Mr. Hahn with 15 keepers (kept his limit only). The boat had its limit for the morning trip. Moon won the pool with a 7 1/4 pounder. Monday 5/17 Tues 5/18 Very good fluke fishing on the South Side. Excellent quantity. Mr. Choi won the pool with a 7 pound fluke. Wed 5/19 Some of the best fluke fishing ever seen! An abundance of throwbacks! tony from Brooklyn wins the pool with a 9 pound fluke. Diamond jigging we had over a dozen keepers to 26 lbs. Thurs 5/20 Very strong action again with the boat limiting out. The 10 pound fluke caught by Mr. La takes the pool winnings. Fri 5/21 Good action again with Stewve the Netcryer nabbibg a pair of 6 1/2 pound fluke for the pool. Fri night was our first Night bass trip of the season. A little on the slow side at the Pollack rip. With 11 fares we had 9 keepers up to 22 lbs. The 22 pounder was caught by 10 y/o Jeremy Meyers ensuring his win of the pool. BAE systems were out on Sea Otter Iv as part of their anual derby. The guys trolled stripers to 25 pounds and had their limit on fluke. Sat 5/22 Full day fluking was excellent with Zino taking top honors with an 8 1/2 pounder. The Tech-Clean company chartered Sea Otter IV for a great combo fishing day. Tony "the fluke fishing machine" won the pool with his 7 1/4 pounder. Joey jigged a nice 25 pound bass. Sun 5/23 Good quality day with J.T. im taking the pool with an 8 pounder. 5 other fish came over the rails weighing over 7 pounds. Sea Otter IV had Andy and his buddies from the Sanitation Dept having a great fluke day. Andy nailed a 9 1/4 pound fluke while Jimmy brought a nice 7 pounder over the rails. Great action. Wed 5/12 Excellent blackfishing today. We nabbed fish up to 9 pounds. Bob barbarisi was high hook with 20 keepers, only retaining his limit. Sat 5/15 First official day of fluke fishing did not disappoint. Good quantity and quality with 10 fish weighing over 4 pounds. Young Kim won the pool with an 8 pound fluke. Sun 5/16 Excellent fluking with an especially strong afternoon. Left them biting. The pool fish was an 8 1/2 pounder reeled in by Bill Wong. Sea Otter IV had a full day fluke charter out with some nice sized fish landed. Monica Charles won the pool with her 7 3/4 pounder but her friend Edward Burton was not far behind with his 7 1/2 pounder. Fri 5/7 Really good day on the Block Island Combo! Plenty of ling action as well as some quantities of flounder and mackeral. Some good quality blackfish were landed with four fish weighing over 10 lbs, including an 11 pounder and a 12 pounder. John Togher won the poool with the 12 pound blackfish. Sat 5/8 Sea Otter IV was out and had a really impressive day blackfishing. They had their limit with fish to 10 pounds. Th bite was hot even though there was a real strong tide Fri 4/30 Went out for a mixed bag near Cartwright and nabbed some blackfish, a few cod and had some great ling action. 7 year old Ian Husack had a great day bringing in his first 2 keeper cod ever. He also won the pool with the 11 pounder. Sat 5/1 The Lady Reelers were out and enjoyed a mixed bag day. Plenty of ling action - Pail was high hook with 14 ling. Linda Tuttle took the pool honors with a 13 pound cod. Nancy brought over the rails a nice haddock. Squirt was high hook with 7 keeper snoeshoe flounder.
