FISHING REPORT

Tues 3/23
The Kilson 6-pack charter aboard Sea Otter IV had an incredible day of codfishing limiting out and throwing good numbers of keepers back for another day. Quite a few double headers were reeled in. Some larger fish hit the decks including a 38 pounder by Pak Young, Kilson nailed a 29 pounder and a 27 pounder. Captain Joel nailed a 31 pounder. They also had a few pollock in the mix.

Wed 3/24
Wednesday's cod trip had us southeast of Block Island. John Looney reeled in an impressive keeper triple header. Jimmy Katz limited out with fish up to 19 pounds. Louie Mercita took 1st place in the pool with a 31 pounder and Rudy Kastanek took 2nd with his 25 pounder.

Thursday 3/25
Sea Otter IV had out for a 6-pack charter. Ok fishing with Captain Vinnie taking the lead with his 30 pound cod.

Friday 3/26
Fishing was tough today with a lot of effort looking for a good pick of fish. Bob Valentine managed to take the pool with an 18 pounder. There were also some pollack in the mix.

Saturday 3/27
Saturday's trip had us doing quite a bit of traveling East finding a good pick of fish. Richie Mahn took the pool with a 15 pound cod. Mike Demarco brought in 11 fish, 5 keepers. The weekends fishing was a bit tougher than earlier on in the week possibly due to some real weak tides.

Sea Otter IV took out a Private charter of Jeff Webber and his friends. The day ended up with a nice mix of cod, hake and ling. On a bright note, on the way in Capt. Joel marked a pile of fish making for some quick action and a nice handful of cod.

Wed 3/17
Called off trip due to marine forecast.

Thurs 3/18
Had the guys out from Grandview Contracting for a cod charter today. Glad to say that by 10AM the weather turned beautiful and the fish were still biting! Charlie Bordsen, a.k.a. Codmaster, was high hook with 21 cod (releasing extra). Over 120 keepers came aboard for 15 fishermen. Bob Rochetta, a.k.a. Bassmaster, stole the pool honors from Charlie by bringing in a 19 lb. cod.

Fri 3/19
Called off trip due to weather conditions.

Sat 3/20
Sea Otter IV was chartered by Chuck Gifford and his buddies for some cod action. Real good day with over 90 keepers coming in. Mo won the pool with his 19 pounder.

Sea Otter V was out as well today and anglers brought over 150 keepers over the rails. 5 fish weighed over 20 pounds. 1st place pool winner was Bernie Monteleone who nailed a beauty at 38 lbs. Warren Smith took 2nd place with his impressive 35 pounder.

Tues 3/9
Today's 6-pack cod charter can boast of over 40 keepers hitting the decks. Combined with Sundays haul of over 80 keepers , we're happy to report that some solid cod action has returned! 5 Year old Giuseppe Boeschl was out on his maiden cod charter and brought in 4 keeprs as well as 7 throwbacks!

Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat trips were cancelled due to the wind conditions.

Sunday, Rob Bruno and his gtroup from Prestige Plumbing chartered Sea Otter IV for a day of great cod fishing. Plenty of fish and 7 double headers! The action was very fast and the mid day bite was excellent. Rob nailed a 21 pounder while Billy Swill brought a 31 pounder over the rails.

Sea Otter V fished South East of Block Island with a sold out crowd. Good fishing with a late afternoon bite. The last drop was intense with over 100 keepers hitting the decks. The average fish weighed in at about 8 pounds but three fish came in over 25 pounds. Mr. Suh from Oyster Bay won the pool with a 32 pounder.

Wed 3/3
After a slow start the fish made a nice comeback towards the end of the day. Over 35 keeper cod came over the rails with John McIntyre nailing the pool with a 12 pounder. Lillian Kelly was out on her maiden cod voyage and brought home 2 nice keepers. Joe was high hook with 5 keepers. A good pick at ling as well with at least 100 hitting the decks.

Fri 3/5
Lots of good steady action throughout the day. A lot of keeper cods as well as plenty of shorts thrown back. Fishing definately improved as there were also good numbers of ling and pollack coming over the rails as well. Steve was high hook with 7 keepers including the pool at 12 lbs. Mike McPhearson went home a happy man, catching his first ever keeper cod. Rachel and Anthony also joined the ranks of firsttimers.

Sat 3/6
Saturday had some good steady action with a lot of short fish with a good pick of keeper cod. There was lots of wind making for some tough fishing conditions. Jason Hubbard nabbed the pool with a 10 pounder while John was high hook with 6 keepers.

Sun 3/7
We had some pretty good fishing after waiting for the moon tide to slow up. Over 80 keepers hit the decks. We had some good quality cod averaging 6 pounds. Joe nailed a 19 pounder while kahy Kronuch was high hook with 10 keepers including the pool winner at 22 pounds.
