FISHING REPORT
Thursday 2/26
Terrific fishing for Thursday's charter. Over 130 keepers leaving them biting with Bob landing the 18 pound pool fish. Capt. Desi was high hook with 15 fish.
Friday 2/27
The action slowed up from Thursday. Still catching a fair number of cod with a good batch of ling for most people. Dave Dursou brought in the pool winner at 12 1/4 pounds.
Sat 2/28 & Sun 2/29
Beautiful days to be out on the water but the fishing was tough. Some ling and a slow bite for cod.
Rick Flanel had the pool on Saturday and Mike C. took it home on Sunday.
Looking foward to a better week ahead!
Tuesday 2/17
Private trip went out for a mixed day at the Rock pile area. Very good local fishing with over 40 keeper cod hitting the deck with size up to 8 1/2 pounds. Steve Brosna had the pool cod at 8 1/2 lbs as well as 7 other keepers. Good cod jigging action in areas where the mackeral are around. A nice mix of pollack also came in and well over 150 ling especially in the area of a wreck.
Friday February 20th
Fished south of Montauk with the biggest cod caught to date by Bob Barbarisi at 33 lbs. 10 fish came over the rails in the teens or better including Ron Milanau with a 27 1/2 pounder and Dick Meirowitz with a 27 1/2 pounder. Gloria Etzel nabbed a 26 pound cod for herself. Kevin Daniels was high hook with 6 keepers. Over 80 keeper cod came in for the day with the majority hitting on clams but there was also some luck with jigs. There were also some pollack and ling in the mix for the day. An added surprise in the 150 feet of water was a blackfish.
Saturday 2/21
Had a small charter out fishing for cod in the same areas. Over 30 keepers were nailed for the day. James, a.k.a. "Squirt" nabbed a nice 29 pounder.
Sunday 2/22
A breezy day to the south but the cod fish didn't disappoint with over 40 keepers coming aboard. Jim Katsavos was high hook with 6 keepers and Rob Demareo had 4. Mark Palermo won the pool with a 23 pounder along with 5 keepers.
Saturday 2/14
Fished south of the Lighthouse for some solid action especially towards the end of the day when the bite was red hot. Using a mix of bait and diamond jigs there were a lot of cod to be had with over 45 keepers coming over the rails. Bob Rafferty had his limit as well as bringing in the largest cod weighing 11 pounds. There were also a nice amount of pollock in the mix as well as a large amount of ling.
