FISHING REPORT
Week of 1/2
Friday was our first combo trip of the year producing some encouraging results. Fishing Cartwright anglers brought over a dozen keeper codfish into the boat as well as pollack. Ling was plentiful with over 100 coming over the rails up to 6 pounds. Yeeman, from VA, on her first cod trip, managed to nail a keeper. The cod pool winner was a 7 pounder brought in by Phil Bloom. Steve Polesovsky nabbed the pollack pool with a 14 pounder. Captain Joel, never one to miss on the action, brought 4 keeper pollack in for himself. Saturday we headed to South of Block Island for a mixed bag day. Close to a dozen keeper cod were brought in with the pool winner being an 8 1/2 pounder caught by Joe Roepke. Ling, pollack and blackfish were in the mix as well as some unwelcome conga eels. Sunday, back to the same area where we had a good day of blackfishing. A few anglers nabbed their limit, including Steve Polesovsky who had tog to 8 pounds. Some keeper cod and ling came over the rails as well. Bob Rafferty jr. had his limit on tog and took the pool with an 8 3/4 pound blackfish. Click here for a Complete Monthly Archive of Fishing Reports |
