FISHING REPORT
Week of 7/20
Sunday night's bass trip had us out at the North Rips eeling. Dave Aboudi was high hook with 6 keepers. The 28 pound pool winner was Pat Palombo from St. james. Mondays full day had us at the Rips and down the beach. The fluke pool winner was Takanori Akiyorma with a 5.7 pounder. Tuesdays waether kept us at the docks. Wednesday we were at the Elbow. Captain Joel had his personal best nabbing his largest bass on a diamond jig to date at 34 pounds. Kwon had 4 keepes - 3 of which were over 5 pounds including the pool winner at 7 1/4 pounds. Jae Chu was high hook nabbing 14 keepers of fluke - he kept only his limit. Wednesday night the seas were tough so hit the South side where Joe Julian took the pool with a 36 pound striped bass. Thursday day the seas were turbulant so we tried the south side again and Robn Crane from Nesconset hit the pool with a 5.2 pund fluke. Friday we headed to the rips and South side. Brookly Lou and Kenny Benson had their fluke limits. Park Dabid had the pool with a 7 3/4 pounder. Friday night eeling for bass again at the Nort Rips. Bob Zlokovitz nabbed the pool winner a 35 pound striper. Bob had a terrific night he reeled in 4 keepers. Two when he tried his luck fdiamond jigging and 2 (including the pool) eeling. He retained only his limit. Saturday fluking at the south side and rips. The pool was caught by first timer Kevin Schissel with a 5 pound fluke. Saturday night we bassed at the rips. Frank Rufrano, caught his first then second saltwater fish, nabbing 2 keeper stripers. Kathy Kronuch took 1st place in the pool with a 31 pounder and Ertik Badger took 2nd place with a 29 pounder. Sunday the boat had its limit for 16 passengers on fluke. A real good day at the south side and rips. Some nice sea bass coming over the rails as well. Pool winner was Steve "the net cryer" with a 5 pound fluke. Week of 7/14 Headed to the Elbow on Monday. Good diamond jiigging. Over 15 keeper stripers came aboard. Ken Donnelly had his limit on stripers. Bill Braun won the fluke pool wih a 5 1/4 pounder. Eric Dafguard was high hook with 12 keepers. Tuesday was a terrific fluke day at the Elbow. Plenty of anglers claimed their limits. Kevin was high hook with 13 keeeprs. Jae had the winning fluke at 9 1/2 pounds. Billy from Manhasset Sportsmen's Club naileed a 4 3/4 pound sea bass. Wednesday fished down the beach. Bernie Renyolds won the pool with an 8 pounder. Jimmy limited out by noon with fish up to 5 pounds. Steve Lee had his limit with fish up to 6 pounds. Glenn had a 6 1/2 pound fluke. Wednesday night we were at the North Rips - a bit slow going and then a big fog set in. Dan Demmers managed to pool out a 31 pound striper to win the pool. John Bye decked a nice 29 pounder. Thursday - No Man's Land. An exciting trip with fast action. 35 out of 38 anglers had their limit on fluke. Akio Kon nailed a 10 1/2 pound doormat. Yuji Kuroso brought in a 9 pound flattie. The majority of fish came over the rails over 5 pounds. High hook was 18 keepers. Brooklyn Lou managed 3 double headers. Didn't spend too much time sea bassing but Annie Mae managed 5 sea bass. *We've added the 31st to the schedule. Friday Fished down the beach and the rips. Sherri Indycki won the pool with a 6 pound fluke. Kenny Benson was high hook with 14 keepers. Victor Ghin nabbed 11 keepers. We also had a 1/2 dozen keeper stripers come over the rails diamond jigged. Friday night fished South side under the Lighthouse. Paul Columbo was high hook with 4 keepers. Victor Ghini won the pool with a 29 pound striper. Saturday morning fished the rips where 11 y/o Eric was the sea bass fisherman with fish up to 4 pounds. Dave Aboudi nabbed a 5 pound fluke to win the pool. The afternoon headed back to the same grounds where Bobbie Morello from Oceanside landed a 6 pound pool winner. Saturday night fished the rips. Kathy Kronuch was high hook with 3 keepers and the pool at 28 pounds. Kept only her limit. Sunday full day fished Midway. Good action, plenty of fluke. Mr. Lee had the pool with a 5 1/2 pounder. Week of 7/7 Mondays trip had us at the rips where the big catch of the day went to Park who brought in a 28 1/2 pound monkfish. On the fluke front, Don and Liam Hiroki limited out. The pool was a 6/12 pounder caught by Rick Fergurson. Tuesday back to the same area. Bob Barbarasi had 10 keepers as did Jan. The pool was a 6 pounder bought in by Jan. Wednesday were at the Elbow. Ray and Kim , father -daughter team had their limit on fluke. Osai had 6keepers and the 6 1/2 pound pool/ High hook was Ralphie baby with 15 keepers up to 5 3/4 pounds. Wednesday night was a good night at the North rips. 8 fish over the rails weighing over 30 pounds. Kevin Cooper had the pool winner ay 38 pounds. Brian Michaels had a 36 pounder. Kevin Schumtz had a 31 and a 33 pound bass. James Darby had a 34 pounder. Tim Curtin had a 32 pounder. His daughter Jackie had a 31 pounder and a 30.5 pounder. Great night - lots of action. Thursday good fluking action on the South side. Kevin had a record f 25 keepers! Lilia Mcnally won the pool with a 5 1/2 pound flattie. Friday we were at the Elbow where Dave Aboudi and Roy each had their limit on diamond jigged bass and fluke. Over a dozen keeper bass were jigged that day. Dave had the pool fluke at 5.5 pounds. Friday night we hit the East spot where Dave Aboudi was high hook with 4 keepers. Peter Scala took the bool with a 31 pound striper. Saturday morning we fished the rips for fluke. Kevin Daniels had 7 keepers. Bob Vikse hit a 8 1/4 pounder to win the pool. Saturday afternoon went back to the rips. Tommy Hart was the pool winner at 51/2 pounds. Saturday night - good night at the North Rips. Danny Collins had the pool with a 35 pounder and D.J. Collins had a 31 1/2 pounder. Frankl Mazurkiewicz had a 33 1/2 pound cow. Ben Greenspan brought in a 31 poun striper. Sunday's full day we fished the South side and the rips. Kevin Kim had his limit on boh diampond jigged stripers and fluke. Jeff O'Gorman got a beauty of a striper at 30 pounds. John Lee had the pool fluke weighing in at 7 pounds. Week of 6/28 Monday we fished South side and Rips. Bill from Middletown was high hook - 10 keepers. John Kuszek nabbed the pool with a 6 lb fluke. Capt. Joel got his line wet and brought in a 9 pounder. Tuesday we fished s.side and the rips. Mr. Park had the pool winning fluke at 8 1/4 pounds kenny Benson from Brooklyn and Capt. Joel also had their limit on fluke and bass up to 26 pounds. Wednesday we fished the South side where Rosemary Zyburo, and John and Johnny Zahanny all had their limits of fluke. James Chang had a 9.2 pounder and John Lee nailed a pool winning 9.8 pound doormat. Wednesday night had terrific action Night bassing at the East spot. 7 fish over 30 pounds. Greg Ferrais was high hook with 9 keepers - included were a 40 pounder and a 34 pounder. Kenny from Tight Lines tackle nailed a 36.5 pounder. Danny Collins won the pool with a 42.5 pounder. Kathy Kronuch brought fish over the rails at 30, 31.5 and 34 pounds. Friday - 2 half day trips at the Rips. the A.M. 96 year old Moon was high hook with 6 keeper fluke, Jerry Koclurba had the pool with a 7 pounder. The afternoonJay had 7 keepers as did Mr. Hahn who included in his take home a 6 1/2 pound pool winner. Friday night we fished the East spot for bass. 24 fares - the boat took its limit. Rich Wright took the pool with a 39.5 pound striper. Bill Connelly nailed a 38.5 pounder and a 34 3/4 pounder. Saturday morning started at the south side and rips. Benji from Quens had a 8 1/4 fluke to win the pool. Saturday afternoon fished the South side where the Galise sisters were the stars. Stephanie had the pool fluke at 4 1/2 pounds and her 7 year old sister jenna reeled in a keeeper striped bass on a fluke rig! Saturday night hit the East Spot. great night boat limited out by 11 PM. Tom brought in 7 keepers, Tony had 4. Mike Van wert took the pool with a 27 pound striPer. Sunday full day at the South side. Good mix of sea bass and diamond jigged stripers. Kilson limited on fluke as did Rocky Catalfamo. Bob Vigil had the winning pool fluke at 8.5 pounds. As always anglers retained only their limit.
