FISHING REPORT

Week of 6/23
The beginning of the week. Monday, had good action at Shagwon and Pollcak rips. Excellent fluking with Arden having 11 keepers and Park reeling in 12. Don Roth took the pool with a 7 3/4 pound fluke/ Al was right behind him with a 7 1/4 pounder.

Tuesday was another good day for fluke action in the same areas. Dave Brown had 10 keepers. Paul Fossi took the pool honors with a 9 1/4 pounder. Larry Katz had 9 keepers and took 2nd place with a 7 1/4 pound fluke.

Wednesday took to the South side where we had a tremendous day of over 200 keeper fluke coming over the rails. High hook were Steve Matucci with 11 and Jim Matucci with 10. The pool honors went to Yasuda who nabbed a 6 3/4 pounder.

Wednesday night bassing had a tough start at the North rips but the fish prevailed. 38 keeepers hit the deck. Bob V. took the pool with a 32 pound striper, he also had a 29 1/2 pounder.

Thursday we went fluking at the rips and Rich was high hook with 9 keepers. On avaerage for 23 customers there were 6 keepers a piece. Paul Ryan won the pool with a 7 3/4 pounder.

Friday we fished the South side where Capt. Joel reeled in 11 heeper fluke and Roger Veigle had 10. James Chang had 9 keepers and the pool at 6 1/2 pounds.

Friday nighT we had good action at the North rips where Mike Beberman won the pool with a 46 1/2 pound cow. Steve Glasser hauled in a beauty at 40 pounds.

Saturday we fished the south side - Roger Veglie was high hook with 12 keepers including the pool at 5 1/2 pounds.

Saturday night we fished the east spot and pollack rip. 7 year old Ricky McGregor hooked a keeper striper all by himself and with his dad helping him hold the pole, he reeled the 23 pounder into the boat. Kathy Kronuch had a 30 lb striper.

Sunday we had some nice fish at the South side. Mr Moon won the pool with a 6 pound fluke. Kathy Brown jigged a 23 lb striper.

WEEK OF 6/16

The beginning of the week had the 6th grade classes from Roslyn School chartering both boats for two days. The kids and teachers had a great time fluke fishing as we fished the calmer waters at Cartwright Island. Frankie won the pool with a 4 pounder.

Wednesday fished Midway where Roger Veglie was high hook with 11 keeper fluke. He also nabbed 4 keeper bass diamond jigging. It was Rogers day he took the fluke honors with a 5 pounder.

Thursday the 2nd graders from Phillips Ave Elementary school took over the boat for some fluke fishing at the North Rips.

Friday a good fluking day at 50% of the boat limited out for 18 fares. Glenn Aboff is back nabbing 12 keeper fluke. Richie Crace limited on fluke and took his limit diamond jigging bass. Dave Aboudi had the 7 pound fluke pool winner.

Friday night headed to the East spot where the boat limited out with 20 fares. Bill Sheehan hauled a 30.5 pounder over the rails. Kathy Kronuch nabbed the pool with a 31pound striper.

Saturday we had the Grey Goose boys charter the boat for some fluke action. We headed to the ruins. Tom Sprague had 8 keeper fluke and Fred took the pool with a 7 3/4 pounder.

Saturday night we had good action at the East spot. Kathy kronuch and her fishing buddy Danny had 5 keepers each. Mike Rennie took the pool with a 32 pound striper.

Sunday we fished the rips where there was a lot of bluefish action. Rob from Setauket had his fluke limit. Roger Veglie was back again to nail the poool this time with a 7 1/4 pounder.

Week of 6/9
Headed to Block Island on Mon. for our full day combo. Excellent results! Kathy had 8 keeper fluke, 2 of her fish wee up to 7 pounds. Dave Brpwn also had 8 keepers. One of which was a healthy 9 1/4 pounder and the othera 10.1 pound doormat. Tom Jones from Maryland had his limit for fluke as did Hiro who had 6 fish over 5 pounds. Kenny Donnolly had an 8 pound fluke. A nice mix of sea bass also came over the rails. We took to the Elbow where we had some solid action diamond jigging bass and blues.

Tuesday headed back to B.I. Fishing was a bit tougher. Desi Collan had his limit on fluke as did Dan the Man. Rosie Kunkel had the pool with a 7 3/4 pounder. Paul Ryan jigged his limit on stripers.

Block Island again for Wednesday's day trip. Joe Methfessel won the pool with his 9 pound fluke. He also jigged a keeper striped bass. Sunny Young landed a 7 1/2 pound fluke and an 8 pounder.

Wednesday night we were at the EasT Spot. Landed over 18 fish for 11 fares. Bob Zlokovitz had the pool at 31 1/2 pounds. He also was high hook with 5 other keepers.
Thursday we headed back towards Block island where Kenny Benson jigged some keepers stripers as did Dave Brown. The pol went yo Kim Hanmo with a 6 1/2 pound fluke. Fishing was a bit slow.

Friday - we did not sail.

Saturday we hit the Elbow, south Side and Midway. Diamond jigging stripers we had over 15 keepers. Choi landed 2 and Mike Ray had 3. Mike also won the fluke pool with a 5 pounder. Steve had 11 keeper fluke.

Saturday night we fished for stripers at the East spot. Tom Van was high hook with 6 keepers. Charles Granick was right behind him with 5. Kathy Kronuch had the biggest fish at 37 pounds. Artie and 7 y/o Tarran nailed a 35 pounder. 14 year old Nick Verdon hauled a 32 pounder over the rails. We had over 50 keeper bass for the night.

Sunday we fished Midway and the Elbow. Some good diamond jigging. A tie for fluke honors with Genevieve Fenton from Fl and Kim Ala nabbing 7 pounders each.

Week of 6/2
Monday, there was lots of Bluefish action and striper activity at the rips. Over 22 keeper stripers came over the rails. Diamond jigging, Dan had the largest striper at 32 pounds. Due to the swell the fluke action was on the slow side. Brooklyn Lou managed to pull out the pool winner at 5 1/4 pounds.

Tuesday, we fished the rips and south side. Annie mae jigged the striped bass pool winner at 22 pounds. Frank Passaro brough in the fluke winner at 6 1/4 pounds.

Wednesday we headed over to Block Island for some action. Fluking was successful with high hook being Mr. Kim with 12 keepers. Seven other anglers limited out as well. Yuji Kurosu took the pool honors with a nice 7 pounder. Mr. Kim had a good time diamond jigging bass. Not only did he land his first keeper striper ever, but he also managed to bring four others over the rails as well. Joe Vitale also nabbed his first keeper striper as well. Over 16 keeper stripers hit the deck for the day.

Wednesday night we headed to the rips and East spot for some excellent night bass action with live eels. Janet had her limit and it was her first time ever catching striped bass. D.J. had 7 keepers. Annie Mae had 5 keepers. Chrome Dome had 4 keepers. Kathy Kronuch hauled in 6 keepers. Big Bass Bob put in an appearance , nabbing 6 keepers and the pool which weighed in at 31 pounds. Anglers kept only their limit.

Thursday we headed back to Block Island for some terrific fluke fishing. Mike J. had two fish over 6 1/2 pounds. Frank Venti had the pool at 7 3/4 pounds. Captain Joel livened things up by being high hook, nabbing 15 keepers. Bob from Reading, PA was quite successful diamond jigging. He nailed three keeper stripers.

Friday's all day trip we ventured to Block Island. Rich W. was high hook with 9 keeper fluke. Chris Vandwater nabbed a 6 1/4 pound fluke. Lou Selvaggi took the pool with his 7 3/4 pounder. A bunch of short stripers in the mix as well as some blues. Bill Iken diamond jigged some keeper stripers.

Friday night we had some great bass fishing at the East spot. Frank had 10 keepers come over the rails up to 31 pounds. Kevuin Daniels also nabbed 10 keepers up to 30 pounds. Jen, on her first striper trip got her 1st keeper and brought 3 other fish over the rails. Dave Aboudi was the pool winner with a beauty at 36 pounds.
