FISHING REPORT
Week of 11/24
Got out Friday for an all day Bass trip. Hit the rips, Pollack, Alaska, and North, also hit the South side and Caswells. Fishing was good. Diamond jigging, Tom pennino was high hook with 12 keepers, Dave Aboudi had 10 keepers and Ron S. had 11 keepers. The pool went to Michale Preis who had 7 keepers and the pool at 22 lbs. Numerous blue fsh came over the rails on the South side up to 16 lbs. Saturday morning 1/2 day fishing was terrific for diamond jigging! Fished North and Alaska rips. Pool fish was a 22 pounder brought over the rails by Ray who also had 7 keepers. Capt. Glenn took in the largest striper of the day at 27 1/2 lbs. He also had 8 keepers. Dave Aboudi had his own contest going on with Capt. Joel for the most fish. He had 10 keepers but Capt. Joel took he lead with 13. Better luck next time Dave! Week of 11/17 Got out Wedneday night for some striper action at the North rips. Tide was pretty crummy but Paul Stowe, Chris C., Kathy Kronuch and Chris P. all had 3 keepers each come over the rails/ The pool went to Mike from Garden City who nabbed a 25 pounder. Week of 11/11 Slow week due to weather conditions. Friday night, Guy Cauley and his crew chartered the boat for some striper action. Heading to the North Rips the boat limited out early and was throwing keepers back into the night. Clint Olsen from Manhatten had 7 keepers, Mike "The Jigger" from Mass. had 6 keepers and Scott managed to win the pool again amongst this crew with a 27 pounder! Week of 11/04/02 Monday's full day combo had us blackfishing at Gardiners Island. Ed Koro nabbed the pool fish weighing in at 8 lbs. In the afternoon we moved on to for some striper action with live eels at the Alaska Rips. Three nice keepers came over the rails. Tuesday, the Rusty Hook Fishing Club chartered the boat for some mixed bag action. Frank and Jim Hill tied for the pool with a pair of 8 lb. blackfish caught at Gardiners Island. The afternoon we moved on to diamond jigging for stripers at the North and Alaska rips. Bill Kessinger had the largest - a 15 pounder. Also numerous blues came over the rails. George caught a nice alligator blue at 17.5 lbs. Friday's full day turned out to be a 1/2 day due to the weather conditions. We fished for stripers with live eels and limited outr by 10:30 AM. Great fishing at the Pollack rips, Doc had the 24 lb. pool fish. Saturday morning we were at the Pollack rips and north rips striper fishing with live eels. Good fishing with 25 keepers for the boat. Marc Lundy had two keepers including the pool fish at 25 lbs. Frank Renyolds managed 3 keepers coming over the rails. the afternoon started out a bit slow, but ended with 16 nice keepers in the boat. Rose Delfino had 2 keepers and the pool fish at 20 lbs. Saturday night was a very tough start but ended awesome limited out withover 50 fish. Fishing the Elbow, Pollack and North rips, Lou Napoli had the pool with a 22 lb striper along with 4 other keepers. Dave Aboudi was high hook with 10 keepers. Sunday morning was a live eel strriper trip, 1/2 day due to the weather. Steve Matteucci opted for diamond jigging and had 7 keepers. The pool was a 16 pounder reeled in by John French. We fished the Pollack and North rips. All trips anglers only kept their limit. Week of 10/27/02 On Monday, we ran our Blackfish combo, fishing Fishers Island. Nice quality fish with Joe Jablonsky nailing the pool with an 8 1/2 lb blackfish. At the end of the day we switched over to sea bass where there was a lot of action and quantity coming over the rails. Monday night we had the Giunta charter doing some night bassing with live eels. The 12 guys limited out by 10:30. Very good fishing all around and Gene Baker took the pool with a 26 pounder. Friday's combo had us blackfishing at Fishers island again with excellent results. Doc had 7 keepers, Paul Ryan had 9 keepers up to 7 1/2 lbs. Yinbo Shuyi had the largest fish at 9 1/2 lbs but she did not opt to be in the pool, so those honors went to Brooklyn Lou who had an 8 1/2 pounder. Capt. Joel got in on the action and was high hook, reeling in his limit by 9:30 AM. He had 13 keepers for the day with his two largest weighinh in at 9 and 9 1/4 lbs. Sunday's Blackfish combo had us back at Fishers Island. Steve Matteucci had 9 keepers. Bill Mack had the pool winner at 6 1/2 lbs.
