FISHING REPORT

Week of 10/20

Sunday night Frank Rendon and his buddies chartered the boat for some striper action. Went to the East spot and Rips. Action was good and Frank nabbed the pool at 28 lbs.

Monday nights full moon trip was a bit tough. We headed to the Rips where Rich Cannon was high hook w/4 keepers. The pool winner was Brian Csikortos from Calverton with his bass weighing in at 18 lbs.

Tuesday's combo, also known as Timmy Collins Day, had some excellent sea bass coming over the rails at Midway. Timmy Collins had the pool sea bass at 4 1/4 lbs. A good mess of porgies also were reeled in with Timmy once again taking the largest at 3 lbs. Moving on to Striper fishing with live eels was fabulous with us limiting out in 1 1/2 hours for 10 fishermen. Timmy, obviously out of retirement, nabbed the largest striper on board weighed in at 28 lbs.

Tuesday night we had our special Full Moon madness trip where we took only 14 reservations. We went to Midway and the North Rips. The boat limited out with Chrome Dome being high hook w/9 keepers up to 30 lbs. Eric Schmidt was our pool winner with a beauty weighing in at 31 lbs. Fishing was excellent with keepers being thrown back over the rails by the end of the night.

Wednesday's full day combo had us fishing at the North Rips. Eeling for stripers was productive. Richie reeled in 4 keepers. Sea bassing was excellent! Joe Giunta had the biggest sea bass at 4 1/4 lbs and his other catch of the day was his brothers pole!

Wednesday night was some tough fishing with poor conditions with wind against the tide. All was not lost as Ron Ferraro nailed the pool with a 33 lbs. A good night also for Mike Strafford who caught his first ever keeper striper at 20 lbs.

Sunday's Blackfish trip to Block Island was successful once again. using green crabs and fiddlers we had 64 keepers for 12 fares! Dave from Bay Shore was our first to limit out with 10 keepers up to 6 lbs. Joe Julian had 8 keepers up to 6 lbs. Phil Moschitta had 7 keepers - 4 over 5 lbs. Ralph Demartino had 6 keepers. The pool winner was Tony Catalfamo - he had 5 keepers the largest weighed in at 7 1/2 lbs.




Week of 10/13
Sunday night's bass trip to the Pollack Rips and North Rips did not disappoint! Kathy Kronuck nailed 8 keepers and Jimmy hauled 5 over the rails! Steve Brennan took the pool with a 32 pound beauty.

After the storm headed out we took the Massapequa Firemen for a daytime charter for stripers with live eels. Heading to the North Rips and Shagwon, Jim Lafferty had 3 keepers. Kevin Meaney also had 3 keepers and the pool winner at 17 pounds. Very good striper action as well as some bluefish in the mix.

Thursday night Kir Son from NJ chartered the boat for some striper action. Ten people and we limited out by 8:30 PM! The East Spot was hot! We released over 25 fish. Kir Son's uncle was the pool winner with a 36 pound beauty!

Friday night Jerry Walsh and his friends from Bayville chartered the boat for striped bass! The action was good again at the East Spot. 22 fish for 13 people. The pool was a 31 pounder.

Saturday day The Great Gun Angler fishing club chartered the boat for some combo action. It was tough fishing, rough conditions with a lot of wind. We took to the Rips and Shagwon. Good bluefish action and some nice sea bass. Club President Joe took the pool with a 5 lb. sea bass.

The wind kept up so we cancelled our Sat night trip.

Sunday morning we opened our Blackfish season with a great start! Block Island blackfishing was hot! 72 keepers for the day. High hook was Coach Bill Procaccini with 9 keepers! Dave, Ed, Bill, Kim1 and Kim 2 each had 6 keepers. Jimmy Joo had the pool fish at 7 pounds.

Week of 10/6
Tuesday we had Sgt. Jorge Vasquez and his crew chartering the boat for some mixed bag action. Diamond jigging was good at the North rips and Shagwon . We had 7 keeper stripers and a good mess of blues. A bunch of false albacores also came over the rails. Eric was high hook with 12 blue fish.

Wednesday night's bass trip tok us to the Pollack and North rips for some red hot action. Don Giunta was high hook with 8 keeper stripers. He caught his largest fish to date at 40.5 lbs. Tom Pennino also caught his two biggest bass to date a 42 pounder and a 47 pounder which also managed to take the pool. Glenn from Ditch Plains caught a 35 pounder. Frank Stoutenburgh had a 34 pounder and Mike had a 31 pounder.What a great night with the boat limiting out for 18 fares and anglers keeping only their limit.

Thursday's combo took us to the Southwest ledge. Excellent porgie and sea bass action. Brooklyn Lou took his limit of sea bass with 9 fish over 3 pounds. He also had the pool sea bass at 5 1/2 pounds! Tom Peninno diamond jigged a 14 pound keeper striper.

We cancelled the remainder of our trips and charters for last week due to the unfortunate weather conditions.

Week of 9/30

Sea bassing continues to be excellent at the Southwest ledge. Monday's trip had all anglers catching their limit. Diamond jigging gave us some blue fish action and Danny Puglia got himself a nice keeper striper. Charlie Wrobel and Andy Albohor shared the pool with each angler bringing a 4 1/2 pound sea bass aboard.

Tuesday's trip was more of the same with false albacore in the mix. Mike Zackas took the pool with a 4 1/2 pound sea bass. Mixed in with the blues and short bass were 2 keeper stripers.

Wednesday, NYC Fire Dept. Engine 298 chartered the boat for some diamond jigging action that took us to the front of the Light House. Thje crew reeled 20 keeper stripers over the rails! Lots of blue fish action and false albacore. Freddie took the pool honors witha 27 1/2 pounder.

Wednesday night's bassing was great at the Midway rips and East spot, with the boat being only one fish shy of the limit. Yvonne Kehoe was the pool winner with a 25 pounder and she also had 2 other keepers. "Big Bass" Bob Zlokovitz was high hook with 5 keepers.

Thursday, Brock and his crew from Envirotrac chartered the boat. Lots of red hot blue fish action at Shagwon also some false albacore. Andy took the pool with a 15 pound striper.

Friday and Saturday the weather cancelled our trips for during the day but Saturday night we took to the East spot for some live eel action for bass.
Some rough seas but each drift produced some good action. Again one fish shy of the limit for 25 fares. Kathy Kronuch had high hook with 9 keepers and pool at 30 lbs. Tommy Hart had 3 keepers and Tom Shevelin had 5 keepers. Brian Hart had a 28 pounder come over the rails.

Sundays weather had us cancel our trip.
